Beryl Seiler is a research analyst in the Mathematica Global Unit with more than six years of experience in international development. She focuses on mixed-methods evaluations, particularly of education and agriculture programs in francophone Africa.
Seiler joined Mathematica in 2018 and has supported several mixed-methods evaluations in the education, agriculture, and health sectors. She is currently working on the evaluation of the Millennium Challenge Corporation’s Secondary Education Activity in Côte d’Ivoire, with a focus on student assessment, teacher training, and education data management. She also supports impact and performance evaluations of the Millennium Challenge Corporation’s Workforce Development Activity in Morocco, and the baseline study for AGRA’s monitoring, evaluation, and learning strategy.
Previously, Seiler supported a rapid-cycle evaluation of the Lecture Pour Tous project in Senegal as a part of the U.S. Agency for International Development’s Rapid Feedback Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning engagement, and contributed to the program review of The Challenge Initiative for the Gates Foundation. Seiler contributes to the design of qualitative protocols, instruments, and assessments; leads trainings and manages data collection efforts; conducts quantitative and qualitative analysis; and presents findings to partners.
Seiler holds a master’s degree in public administration with a focus on development practice from the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University and a bachelor’s degree in international relations and Spanish literature from Tufts University. She previously worked at the Inter-American Dialogue and speaks fluent French and Spanish.
