Amy Gehrke’s work focuses on military and veterans’ issues, particularly health care for our nation’s service members, veterans, and their families.

Since joining Mathematica in 2012, Gehrke has worked on a range of projects focusing on the health and wellness of military service members, veterans, and their families. She served as the task lead for issue briefs and annual reports for the Health Care Survey of Department of Defense Beneficiaries. In this role, she conducted analyses to monitor beneficiaries’ perceptions about their health, use of health services and insurance, access to and satisfaction with care, and attitudes toward and enrollment in TRICARE. Gehrke also served as the primary statistician on a study for the Elizabeth Dole Foundation, assessing the well-being of children living with military caregivers. In addition, she conducted analyses for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration on the availability of mental health care for veterans.

Gehrke received an M.S. in computational and applied mathematics and statistics from Old Dominion University and a B.A. in political science from The George Washington University.
