Bill Leith’s work draws actionable insights from structured and unstructured data to support a variety of policy evaluation and program improvement challenges for federal clients.

Currently, Leith works on the design and maintenance of a web application to collect, aggregate, and visualize data on family planning services funded by Title X for the Office of Population Affairs in the Department of Health and Human Services. This work includes developing and deploying a website to help patients locate Title X clinics. Leith also contributed to the development of a data portal to collect and analyze data on Sexual Risk Avoidance Education grantees, curricula, and participants. His other work includes database design and data analysis for an evaluation of the National Science Foundation’s ADVANCE Program to promote organizational change for gender equity in science, technology, engineering, and mathematic academic professions; calculating bibliometric measures in support of an investigation of potential disparities in the National Science Foundation’s merit review process by characteristics of principal investigators; and calculating performance measures for an evaluation of Teen Pregnancy Prevention programs funded by the Office of Population Affairs.

Leith’s previous work includes investigating disparities in school discipline, exploring student mobility between public and charter schools, a multiyear impact evaluation of a community-based health and nutrition initiative to reduce stunting in Indonesia, and training and deploying a model to predict school readiness for students in a large urban school district. He holds an M.S. in data science from Northeastern University.
