Data Visualization Lead

Stephanie Tuerk specializes in designing and developing interactive web applications that facilitate data exploration and insight discovery.

At Mathematica, Tuerk has led the design of and developed a number of web-based, data analytics applications, including the Medicaid and CHIP (Children’s Health Insurance Program) Business Information Solution (MACBIS) DQ Atlas, the TRICARE Standard Survey of Providers results dashboard, the Health Care Survey of Beneficiaries results dashboard, and the MACBIS COVID-related data visualizations using the Transformed Medicaid Statistical Information System Analytic Files. She also served as the data visualization lead for Mathematica’s entry to the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality’s 2019 Data Visualization Challenge, which was the national winner.

Tuerk’s work in data visualization draws on her extensive experience in architecture, both as a designer and an educator. She holds a Ph.D. in history, theory and criticism of architecture and art from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
