Nancy Clusen’s work focuses on health care policy and programs with particular emphasis on the military health system. She has extensive expertise in statistics, survey research, policy analysis, data analysis, and quantitative research.
Clusen directs the Health Care Survey of U.S. Department of Defense Beneficiaries, an ongoing quarterly survey that monitors beneficiaries’ perceptions about their health status, use of health services and insurance, access to care, satisfaction with care, and attitudes toward and enrollment in TRICARE. She also oversees sample selection for a survey of TRICARE beneficiaries, physicians, and mental health providers about access to care under TRICARE Standard and Extra. In addition, she works on the evaluation of the impact of sugar-sweetened beverage taxes on prices, purchases, and consumption among families and children, designing and selecting samples of stores and shoppers.
Clusen joined Mathematica in 1999. She holds an M.S. in survey methodology from the University of Maryland.
