Since joining Mathematica in 2018, Kharsa has worked on a range of projects in family support and nutrition.

Her work includes qualitative data collection and analysis, providing technical assistance, overseeing the dissemination of research findings, developing products for communicating research findings, and conducting user experience research to improve the usability of digital products for clients.

Currently, she is the dissemination task lead for one federal project studying innovative employment programs and another providing one-on-one research coaching to federally funded grant recipients serving families with low income. In addition, she is an evaluation site lead for a project introducing a parenting app into a TANF program to understand its potential impact on program engagement. She is also working with the California Department of Social Services to improve the resources they make available.

Kharsa holds a M.S.I. in user experience and design, a M.S.W. with a concentration in social policy, and a B.A. from the University of Michigan.
