Michelle Roozeboom-Baker has extensive experience analyzing national Medicare and Medicaid administrative data, performing data mining, designing summary statistics, and linking data from various sources including Medicare, Medicaid, and the National Death Index.
Roozeboom-Baker is currently a systems lead for the Evaluation of Comprehensive Primary Care Plus (CPC+), a large-scale primary care payment and delivery reform initiative directed by the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation (CMMI). As the systems lead, she oversees data analysis activities for annual and interim reporting of the effects of the CPC+ program on Medicare fee-for-service cost, utilization, and quality of care. She is also a task lead for the Alternative Payment Model (APM) Program Analysis Contractor overseeing the task to determine providers identified as qualifying participants on a quarterly basis. She is also working on an initiative with CMMI to develop and implement monitoring and reporting procedures for the Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement model, an APM that aims to lower cost while maintaining or improving quality. For this project, she provides analytic support by testing new analytic platforms and performing ad hoc analyses. Her past projects include creating ad hoc, quarterly, and annual reports for the Physician Quality Reporting System and creating analytic summary files for the Chronic Condition Data Warehouse.
Before joining Mathematica in 2017, Roozeboom-Baker held positions at General Dynamics Information Technology, Des Moines University, Buccaneer Computer Systems & Services Inc., Telligen (formerly the Iowa Foundation for Medical Care), and the University of Northern Colorado. She has a Ph.D. in applied statistics and research methods from the University of Northern Colorado.
