Haley McCrary

Senior Managing Consultant

Haley R. McCrary has more than a decade of experience in implementing behavioral health and public health programs. At Mathematica, she strives to help clients develop solutions that improve access to care, advance evidence-based behavioral health services, and integrate behavioral health and physical health systems.

McCrary comes to Mathematica from Brown University, where she directed the STAT Network, overseeing a learning network of more than 600 state public health leaders across 53 states and territories. She led training and technical assistance offerings for states, including weekly convenings and small-group facilitation that generated key takeaways and issue briefs on critical public health topics. She also led evaluation of the program and cultivated strong relationships with key organizations (including the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials, National Governors Association, Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists, National Association of County and City Health Officials) and federal partners (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Food and Drug Administration, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, National Institutes of Health, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, and the White House).

Before her time at Brown, McCrary was a program manager at Altarum Institute, where she directed a national training and technical assistance center for Peer Recovery Support Services among justice-involved individuals and managed a program portfolio focused on behavioral health integration. Her work also involved securing substantial federal and state funding, providing expert consultation on behavioral health and substance use disorders, and developing a range of technical resources and publications. McCrary also worked for the University of California, Davis Global Health Institute in its One Health program, and served as a consultant for Partners in Health, collaborating with the Rwanda Ministry of Health to document and support strategic health programs.

McCrary holds a B.S. in biology from San Diego State University and an M.P.H. from the University of California, Davis.
