Emily Rosen’s work focuses on education research and evaluation. She conducts research on K–12 education, preschool, family supports, and early childhood programs including home visiting. Rosen has a range of experience collecting and analyzing qualitative data, including literature reviews, environmental scans, and qualitative interviews with key informants, and is skilled in translating research findings into theoretical and conceptual frameworks. She also works on the U.S. Department of Education’s What Works Clearinghouse, reviewing education research and developing evidence-based resources and toolkits for education practitioners.

Rosen has experience as an early elementary school teacher, teaching both kindergarten and 1st grade at a public charter school as a Teach for America corps member. Rosen has also previously conducted research related to environmental science and sustainability, including as an intern for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and for the United Nations Development Program. Rosen joined Mathematica after receiving her master’s of public policy and management from Carnegie Mellon University Heinz College. She also holds a B.S. in sustainability and a B.A. in political science from Arizona State University.
