Dmitriy Poznyak applies statistical methodologies to develop evidence-based solutions tailored for federal, state, and commercial clients developing clinical quality measures. With more than a decade of experience in quality measurement, Poznyak is an expert in reliability and validity analysis, risk and reliability adjustment, risk stratification, and compositing methodologies. His expertise extends to evaluating the psychometric properties of survey instruments, particularly patient-reported outcome measures.
Since joining Mathematica in 2012, Poznyak has focused on developing, testing, and maintaining clinical quality measures. Currently, he serves as the project director for testing the feasibility, reliability, and validity of process and patient-reported outcome performance measures developed by the American Academy of Dermatology. He also led a project testing electronic clinical quality measures developed by the American Academy of Neurology and Neurocritical Care Society for patients with neurological disorders. In addition, Poznyak developed statistical methods to assess the scientific acceptability of the Whole Health Index, which is aimed at addressing health inequities and improving health at the individual and population levels.
Poznyak is widely recognized as an expert in clinical quality measure testing and is currently a member of the Consensus-Based Entity Endorsement and Maintenance Committee. His work in measure development and testing has been published in renowned medical journals including NEJM Catalyst, Health Services Research, Journal of General Internal Medicine, and JCO Oncology Practice. He holds a Ph.D. in political science from the University of Cincinnati.
