Derek Winsor

IT Program Manager

Derek Winsor has expertise in team leadership, task and project management, report generation, deadline compliance, data integrity, security, and large data transfers. He manages data quality assurance for many health care studies. He received his Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute in 2017.

Winsor is the team task leader on several major projects that produce deadline-driven, 508-compliant reports containing hospital measures for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. He leads the effort to produce documentation for Mathematica-generated Medicaid datasets customized for researcher use, based on data from the Transformed Medicaid Statistical Information System. He served as systems lead for the evaluation of the Comprehensive Primary Care Initiative, created to assess a multipayer model of innovative payment and primary care delivery approaches. He has also ensured data quality and compliance for evaluations of the Children’s Health Insurance Program and other initiatives to provide health coverage and services for mothers and children.

Before joining Mathematica in 2009, Winsor served as an applications developer for UnitedHealth Group/Ingenix and as a former senior marketing/portfolio risk analyst for Alliance Data Systems. He holds a master’s degree in Hispanic linguistics from the University of Arizona.
