Catherine Turvey is a public health specialist with experience in research, project management, and communication for healthier communities and environments.

At Mathematica, Turvey is a project manager and research analyst for a project funded by the Pew Charitable Trusts that includes an assessment of the policies and practices of data exchange for public health in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and New York City. Turvey also provides research expertise for a demonstration for the Social Security Administration and the U.S. Department of Labor. She conducts qualitative interviews and provides evaluation technical assistance to test this early intervention approach, which seeks to improve the extent to which people with recently acquired injuries and disabilities participate and stay in the labor force.

Previously, at the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Turvey collaborated to plan, implement, and evaluate activities for a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to reduce maternal mortality. She has published peer-reviewed research with faculty at Johns Hopkins University and the George Washington University, where she received her master of public health.
