Amanda Lechner

Senior Researcher

Amanda Lechner is a researcher in Mathematica’s Health Unit who focuses on engaging patients in physical and behavioral health care and in the research process. She is also involved in projects at Mathematica that use community-based participatory research and culturally responsive research methods. On numerous projects, she has designed qualitative implementation studies; led data collection activities; and conducted interviews, focus groups, advisory panels, and workshops with a broad range of health care stakeholders, including tribal communities, patients, safety net providers, hospitals, health systems, behavioral health clinicians, associations, researchers, commercial health plans, and purchasers. Outside of Mathematica, she volunteers with a children’s bereavement art therapy program that helps children learn to cope with and accept the death of a loved one by expressing their grief through art projects. She has a master’s degree in public policy from Georgetown University.
