Adam Coyne is Mathematica’s chief growth officer and responsible for helping to scale, mature, and systematize organizational capabilities to position Mathematica for strategic growth in new markets and new work. In his role, Coyne works closely with the chief executive officer, senior leadership team, and board of directors to develop corporate strategy and ensure that the company’s administrative functions are coordinated, lean, and nimble enough to address a dynamic market for research, data, and evidence. Before joining Mathematica in 2010, Coyne was director of public affairs at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, where he was responsible for highlighting the foundation’s goals, programs, research, and other activities to the media and other external audiences; managing executive communications; and directing branding and messaging efforts. Previously, he held senior communications positions with the City of Hope National Medical Center, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. Coyne also worked with public relations firms such as the Rogers Group and Carl Byoir & Associates on a range of consumer accounts and social marketing campaigns and has taught a course in nonprofit public relations at the University of California, Los Angeles.
