In this memo, the RF MERL consortium summarized the literature on teacher coaching, synthesized findings from the RF MERL coaching engagement, and identified potential options for adapting LPT’s current coaching model to improve its effectiveness. While many respondents found coaching valuable, the lack of availability from coaches was a large barrier to the cascading coaching model. Opportunities for action included expanding the role of ICT in the coaching model and improving support to coaches who are incapable of providing the required number of coaching sessions.
