Project Overview

Objective

To increase AmeriCorps’ capacity to share a growing body of evidence on the impact of national service and resources for building that evidence.

Project Motivation

The Office of Research and Evaluation (ORE) at AmeriCorps seeks expand its ability to generate, manage, and share the research, evidence, and data it supports and produces. Doing so will enable the agency to maximize the impact of its evidence-building resources; strengthen the learning culture of the agency; and ultimately enhance the capacity of the programs, organizations, and members it supports to create and use evidence.

Sharing evidence on AmeriCorps’ impact on communities through national service

AmeriCorps’ mission is to improve lives, strengthen communities, and foster civic engagement through service and volunteering. Across the country AmeriCorps members and AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers serve with organizations dedicated to the improvement of communities.

This project’s core goal is to increase AmeriCorps’ capacity to disseminate a growing body of research, evidence, and data on the impact of national service to multiple audiences. To achieve that goal Mathematica:

  1. develops publications and resources to build knowledge and awareness of the evidence that demonstrates AmeriCorps impact on communities through national service
  2. disseminates research, evaluation, and evidence reports via newsletters, webinars, social media, videos, briefs, events, and other products
  3. manages the creation, organization, and presentation of content on the AmeriCorps.gov Evidence Exchange and other AmeriCorps communication resources and channels.
