The Administration for Children and Families (ACF) estimates that over six million children were involved in abuse reports in 2013. Mathematica contributes to understanding the risk factors children face to help strengthen the work of child welfare agencies and programs.
Our cross-disciplinary teams analyze data from health, human services, Medicaid, food and nutrition, and school records to advance research on ways to strengthen programs. We work across a range of issues to provide expertise on the design of child abuse and neglect studies, understand service use in child welfare systems, examine prevention efforts, deliver evaluation technical assistance for homelessness prevention efforts, and conduct data-driven evaluations of home visiting and other programs.
