Effective, high-quality long-term services and supports (LTSS) systems require a mix of institutional-based options and home and community-based services (HCBS) that enable people with diverse needs to choose where they will live and receive the services needed to thrive.
For decades, Mathematica has been evaluating and informing the design of some of the most cutting-edge care delivery and financing innovations so that people can receive needed services in their home or communities. Our teams combine a deep understanding of LTSS and HCBS policy, program history, current practices, and data with a vision—informed by evidence and community voices—about the opportunities for the future.

Developing Questions to Identify Adults with Long-Term Services and Supports Needs
To better understand the experiences of people who might benefit from LTSS, the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation’s (ASPE) Office of Behavioral Health, Disability, and Aging Policy (BHDAP) is developing questions for a future national survey. ASPE and Mathematica discussed this initiative in an online webinar.
