National Association for Welfare Research and Statistics 2014

Mathematica’s experts will be presenting at this year’s National Association for Welfare Research and Statistics, to be held August 17 to 20 in Providence, Rhode Island on a variety of topics in welfare, labor, and research methods. Senior researcher Michelle Derr will participate in a number of conference events, including a presentation on moving TANF recipients to work and a discussion of implementation findings from the Benefit Offset National Demonstration. Scott Cody, vice president and director of human services research in Mathematica’s Cambridge office, together with senior fellow Matthew Stagner, will present a plenary on data analytics and moderate a session on rapid-cycle evaluations. Irma Perez-Johnson, associate director of human services research, will participate in a plenary session focused on planning, key research questions, data sources, and results of randomized control trials. Senior researcher Andrew Clarkwest will present on the new systematic evidence review of employment strategies for low-income adults Mathematica is conducting for the Administration for Children and Families Office of Planning, Research, and Evaluation. Associate director of survey research Karen Bogen will facilitate a plenary discussion exploring key questions regarding survey design, sampling, administration, and analysis.
