Disability Research Seminar Series: The Employment Effects of Terminating Disability Benefits

While time out of work normally decreases subsequent employment, Social Security Disability Insurance (DI) may improve the health of disabled individuals and increase their ability to work. Dr. Timothy Moore examined the employment of individuals who lost DI eligibility after the 1996 removal of drug and alcohol addictions as qualifying conditions.

Pew Charitable Trusts: Forum on Evidence-Based Home Visiting

High quality home visiting programs can help strengthen families and buffer risk factors and family stress. Evidence-based programs also have strong potential to promote early learning and child development. Mathematica and Chapin Hall at the University of Chicago co-presented a policy forum hosted by the Pew Charitable Trusts on the implications of findings from a national cross-site evaluation of replication and costs of evidence-based home visiting programs.
