Supporting Families: Community Forum on Findings from the 2015 Healthy Marriage and Responsible Fatherhood Grants

Stable, supportive families can promote healthy development in children. Since 2005, the federal government has supported healthy marriage and responsible fatherhood (HMRF) programs. These programs teach participants skills to use in parenting, nurturing healthy relationships, and working toward economic stability.

The Administration for Children and Families (ACF) and Mathematica held a community forum on September 29 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm ET that highlighted some of the latest evidence about HMRF programs. A cohort of 85 HMRF grantees received grants from ACF in 2015. These grantees collected detailed evidence from performance measures that offer the field unprecedented insights into their programs, services, and clients.

All participants had an opportunity to engage with HMRF practitioners, researchers, administrators, and thought leaders, focusing on what we have learned collectively about HMRF programs, how performance measures are useful to the field, and future programming and research considerations.
