Washington DC Travel Information

From the north, take I-95 South to the Baltimore Washington Parkway and take the New York Avenue exit. Proceed to Florida Avenue, NE, and turn right. Take the first left onto First Street, NE. Mathematica is on the right. (Note that First Street, NW, is two blocks away so be sure you are in the NE quadrant of the city.)

From the south, take I-95 North to I-395 North. Take exit 6 for I-395 North toward D Street, NW/U.S. Senate/C Street, SW/U.S. Capitol/The White House. Keep right at the fork. Turn right onto New York Avenue, NW. Turn right onto First Street, NE.

From the east, take Route 50 West toward Washington/I-97/Baltimore. Turn right onto Florida Avenue, NE. Take the first left onto First Street, NE.

From the west, take I-66 East to Independence Avenue. Continue straight onto Rock Creek and Potomac Parkway, NW, and then onto Ohio Drive, SW. Make a slight right onto Maine Avenue, SW, and take the I-395 N/Southwest Freeway ramp on the left to South Capitol Street. Merge onto I-395 North; take exit 6 for I-395 North toward D Street, NW/U.S. Senate/C Street, SW/U.S. Capitol/ The White House. Keep right at the fork and then turn right onto New York Avenue, NW. Turn right onto First Street, NE.

The entrance to PMI Parking Garage is on L Street, NE. The garage opens at 6:00 a.m. and closes at 6:00 p.m. If there is no parking, they will valet park your car and hold your keys in the office. Keys must be picked up by 6:00 p.m. as the office and gate entrance close promptly at this time. Vehicle pickup will occur the next day. If you come in by 9:00 a.m., the cost is $10.00; after 9:00 a.m., the cost is $13.00. Cash or credit card is accepted. If you work after 6:00 p.m., you can still exit. The gate will open when your vehicle pulls up to the gate. After parking, please proceed to the lobby using the garage elevator.

There is additional parking available at Impark located at 1100 First Street, NE (off L Street, NE). The hours of operation are from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. If arrival is by 9:00 a.m. the fee is $11.00, after 9:00 a.m. the fee is $14.00. A credit card is the only acceptable form of payment. Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport is the closest and most convenient airport. From there, take the Yellow Line to Gallery Place/Chinatown and follow the directions below for traveling by metro. From Washington Dulles International Airport, the Washington Flyer provides shuttle service to the East Falls Church metro station. From there, take the Orange Line to the Metro Center station and follow the directions below for traveling by metro. In addition, rental cars and taxis are available at these airports.

From New York, Newark, Philadelphia and other stations along the main north-south line of Amtrak, take any train scheduled to stop at Union Station. From there, it is only a short walk or taxi ride to Mathematica. From Union Station, follow the exit signs for First Street, NE. Exit onto First Street and head north for five blocks. Mathematica is on the left side, on the corner of L Street.

Take the Red Line to Union Station and follow the exit signs for First Street, NE. Exit onto First Street and head north for five blocks. Mathematica is on the left side, on the corner of L Street. You can also exit the Red Line at the NoMa-Gallaudet University metro station M Street exit. Mathematica is on the corner of L Street and First Street, NE.
