World Water Day 2019
An estimated 2.1 billion people live without safe water at home. To help improve access to clean water and sanitation services for millions of people in low- and middle-income nations, Mathematica is proud to partner with global development agencies and foundations around the world.
In observance of World Water Day, Shreena Patel, director of monitoring and evaluation at the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), joins Mathematica researchers Clair Null, Audrey-Marie Moore, and Edith Felix to talk about how our partnership is improving access to safe drinking water for people living in Cabo Verde and sub-Saharan Africa. By applying expertise in household survey methodology and the latest technology for water measurement, Mathematica and MCC are helping utilities in Cabo Verde use new data and evidence to measure water consumption more accurately and better determine the extent to which water subsidies benefit impoverished households.
