School Leadership and School Improvement

The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) provides an opportunity for states and districts to invest in preparing and developing school leaders. This webinar discusses how states and districts can leverage ESSA to improve school leadership, especially in low-performing schools. During the webinar, two states describe how they are using ESSA to advance school leadership initiatives (Missouri and Tennessee). Also, staff from New Leaders, NASBE, and Policy Study Associates discuss opportunities to bolster states’ school leadership investments.
