Veronica Barger works to advance Mathematica’s domestic and global climate strategy through business development and strategic research. She also maintains Mathematica’s internal climate change project and proposal data.

Barger works to bring Mathematica’s existing expertise in health, human services, and global into the climate change adaptation & evaluation space. She is passionate about domestic climate change policy and seeks to work with federal, state, and local governments to understand their specific climate needs and find solutions. Barger also has experience working with local governments on environmental justice and equity concerns.

Prior to her current role, Barger worked at Mathematica as a business management associate, focusing on internal data maintenance and business development initiatives. She obtained a master’s degree in public administration with a concentration in environmental policy and management from the Evans School of Public Policy and Governance at the University of Washington in Seattle in 2022. At Evans, she worked as a graduate consultant for Seattle Public Utilities, co-authoring a project aimed at addressing equity concerns experienced by Seattle food service businesses while considering the implementation of a citywide circular foodware reuse system. Barger also gained significant research experience with internships at EMILY’s List, the Democratic National Committee, and Rock the Vote. She holds a bachelor’s degree in communications, law, economics, and government from American University in Washington, DC.
