Erica Lee has 14 years of experience at the U.S. Department of Education managing policy and program implementation studies covering education from preschool through grade 12, including wraparound services, early learning, safe and supportive schools, Title I, school choice, rural education, principal preparation, and educational technology.

Lee applies her content expertise and technical skills by serving on two U.S. Department of Education projects. She is the acting deputy project director for the Evaluation of Promise Neighborhoods and Full-Service Community Schools project and is the deputy task lead for the Mid-Atlantic Regional Educational Laboratory Elementary Writing Toolkit. Lee also serves as the deputy project director for a Wallace Foundation–funded mixed-method study examining the role of assistant principals in improving equity and diversity in school leadership pipelines.

Lee joined Mathematica in 2022. She holds a Ph.D. in policy studies from the University of Maryland.
