Download
Mathematica senior fellow Ronette Briefel testified before the Maryland state Senate Committee on Budget and Taxation at a public hearing to review summer SNAP benefits for children. Her testimony includes three main points: (1) the association between food security and children’s health, and the consequences of food insecurity; (2) the association between SNAP and other nutrition assistance programs and children’s food security in very low-income households; and (3) the association between SNAP benefits or spending and the local economy.
