Intimate partner violence (IPV) is a widespread, multigenerational problem in California that has dangerous and cascading health and social risks for individuals, families, and communities. Medicaid managed care plans have an opportunity to contribute to addressing and preventing IPV among people with low income. The California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal (CalAIM) Population Health Management program requires managed care plans and their networks and partners to respond to members’ social needs within the communities they serve. This policy brief discusses opportunities and strategies for including evidence-informed and practice-based IPV services in the CalAIM Population Health Management program.
