On March 2, Karen Cunnyngham, associate director of Mathematica’s Data Analytics Division, testified before the House Committee on Agriculture at a hearing to review state-level policy options related to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
Cunnyngham discussed SNAP data that can shed light on how state policies affect the program and its beneficiaries. She also highlighted additional data sets and tools, such as microsimulation models, that can build the evidence base and inform decision making about SNAP at the state and federal levels.
