Survey Experts Present at AAPOR Conference
Mathematica's president and CEO Paul Decker will join our survey researchers in showcasing their work at the upcoming annual meeting of the American Association for Public Opinion Research (AAPOR) in Hollywood, Florida, from May 13 to 17. As part of AAPOR's Big Data Task Force Panel, Decker will tap the knowledge base of Mathematica's recently launched Data Analytics Division and present on insights gained from Big Data. Among other topics, experts will discuss measurement error and questionnaire design, sampling frames and the changing demographics of web samples, and strategies for administering web-based surveys. They will explain how paradata can be used to evaluate and refine survey instruments, offer a look at alternative data quality indicators and other tools for adaptive design, and explore how Mathematica is harnessing the power of artificial intelligence tools such as natural language processing to enhance data collection. In the area of incentives, our researchers will present findings on the effectiveness of using prepaid incentives in a mixed-mode survey.
Mathematica is proud to recognize Andrew Hurwitz and Katie Morrison, recipients of AAPOR's Burns "Bud" Roper Fellow Award. Hurwitz and Morrison join a long line of Mathematica staff who have received this honor, which recognizes early-career survey research professionals.
