Refining Your Remote Learning Strategies Using a Data-Driven Approach: The Evidence to Insights Coach

With school buildings closed by COVID-19, schools and districts across the country are rapidly (and sometimes frantically) transitioning to remote learning. But most educators have no experience teaching large numbers of students remotely, and the research base that might help them identify best practices is lamentably thin. It is critical to quickly and efficiently figure out what works—and what doesn’t—in this rapidly evolving landscape. In this webinar, we discussed a free tool, the Evidence to Insights Coach, that districts and schools can use to test and identify—in real time—which online learning approaches work best for their students. We discussed what you’ll need to make the tool work for you and how you can be strategic about using existing data.

Objectives:

  • Discuss key questions to consider when trying to achieve the best outcomes with remote learning
  • Show how the Evidence to Insights Coach can help answer some of these questions
  • Offer insight into what kinds of data you can use to answer these questions
  • Describe other conditions required to conduct rapid-cycle evaluations of distance learning strategies
