Despite the millions of American adults who need long-term services and supports (LTSS), there are currently no comprehensive federal data collection efforts intended to measure the extent of this issue. The lack of data limits evidence-based decision making that could improve programs and policy as well as reduce the negative consequences of unmet LTSS needs. To better understand the experiences of people who might benefit from LTSS, the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation’s (ASPE) Office of Behavioral Health, Disability, and Aging Policy (BHDAP), in partnership with Mathematica, is developing questions for a future national survey.

On June 17, 2024, ASPE and Mathematica discussed the intentions of this new survey initiative. Attendees  learned about:

  • Goals of this initiative
  • Potential policy implications
  • Survey topics of interest
  • Next steps for survey question development

Attendees also had the opportunity to provide feedback on proposed survey topics.

The event included closed captioning. Please email Hannah Bovia at hbovia@mathematica-mpr.com  with any questions about the webinar or to request accessible materials.
