CHCE Forum: Accelerating the Use of Evidence in Health Care Practice, Policy, and Decision Making
Ideally, individuals and organizations would use research-based evidence to make care-related decisions, but evidence from much of this research never makes it into practice to improve patient health. This is due in part to persistent communication gaps between the groups that are generating evidence and those who are in a position to use it. To address these gaps and accelerate the use of evidence-based medicine, a team led by Mathematica Policy Research developed steps to enhance the implementation and acceleration of the use of evidence in practice, policy and decision making.
The Center on Health Care Effectiveness held a policy form on Thursday, May 12, 2016, from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. (ET) at Mathematica’s Washington, DC, office and via live webcast that offered multiple perspectives on how to accelerate the use of evidence in our health care system.
