USDA National School Food Study 2024-2025
The 2024-2025 National School Foods Study is being conducted by Mathematica on behalf of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service (FNS), the agency that runs school meal programs.

With better data comes better policy and the data can only come from you! This study will provide a complete picture of the school food environment.

Top Study Objectives:

  • How nutritious are school meals and snacks?
  • What is the cost to produce a reimbursable school meal?
  • What are students eating in and out of school? What are they throwing away?
  • What foods are School Food Authorities (SFAs) buying to make school meals and what items are on the menus?
  • What does the school food environment look like?
