About Elizabeth

Elizabeth Wood focuses on Medicaid managed care, Medicare managed care, and the intersection of Medicare and Medicaid in delivery systems for dually eligible beneficiaries. Her areas of expertise include integrated care for dually eligible beneficiaries and Medicaid managed care contracting, implementation, operations, and oversight. She has extensive experience in managing complex Fully Integrated Dual Eligible Special Needs Plan (FIDE SNP) programs and the intersection of FIDE SNP operations with state Medicaid oversight requirements.

Wood’s work at Mathematica centers on providing technical assistance to state Medicaid programs and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). She advises states and supports CMS in efforts to (1) integrate care for dually eligible beneficiaries, (2) improve Medicaid managed care quality and oversight, and (3) understand the intersection of state Medicaid program operations and the evolving health care regulatory landscape.

Wood, who joined Mathematica in 2018, previously led the State of New Jersey’s FIDE SNP program and has over 10 years of experience in state government operations and policy. She has published work in Health Affairs and The Journal of Studies on Alcohol. She holds a Master of Public Affairs and Policy from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.
